His Story

At first glance, Lawrence may seem like the average joe, but once you hear him sing you realize he's anything but. An intoxicating mixture of gospel, rock, soul and R&B in his new album reveals a singer/songwriter/producer who has an unshakable sense of self and his place in this world.

Lawrence Miles II

Lawrence is an up-and-coming vocalist based in Minnesota. He was born into a family full of musical talent. His grand father Abram Miles was a composer and band director for over 37 years. His father Lawrence Miles was a celebrated trumpet player with a love for diverse music. His mother Melanie Miles was a singer known for her soul stirring melodic powerful voice. Lawrence had no choice but to continue in this rich musical legacy when he was born. As a child he had a passion for playing drums. He was self taught and dreamed of playing professionally. As a teenager he discovered the hidden talents of singing and song writing. While content with just being a drummer his parents gently pushed him into developing his other gifts. He learned to play the Piano at Walker West Music Academy and learned voice technique from Jeff Leiknes his high school choir teacher.

In addition to singing Lawrence's passion for empowering people to become their best is demonstrated in his preaching and teaching. Lawrence accepted the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ August of 2008. As a gifted communicator and emerging leader Lawrence serves as Lead Pastor for Journey Community Church, a new life-giving church in the Twin Cities launched Spring of 2016.

From his early days in his grandmother's living room to world stages, Lawrence's objective has remained singular - to humbly serve the Lord with all of his heart and hear God say "Well done."

After years of singing and honing in on his craft, Lawrence is set to release his first album in 2019 entitled "Written 2 Experience". This album embodies stirring, musical compositions of personal tragedies and triumphs written by Lawrence himself. This highly anticipated release is sure to make its mark in history as a classic album..

"I don't believe I have the best voice in the world, but I'm honored to put to use the voice God has blessed me with to be a blessing to others."
